The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts above-normal temperatures in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from February to April, with the highest warming observed in Gilgit and Bunji. This rise in mercury is expected to heighten glacial melting and increase the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in the region.
