Italian Police Seize Illegal Cigarette Plant and 17 Tons of Contraband

Italy's Guardia di Finanza has seized an illegal cigarette manufacturing plant and 17 tons of contraband cigarettes, preventing an estimated 3.5 million euros in evaded taxes for the state and the EU. The operation thwarted daily profits of around 700,000 euros from the illicit trade.
