ECHR Rules Czech Republic Violated Rights in Romani Man's Death

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that the Czech Republic violated the right to life, the prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment, and the prohibition of discrimination in the case of a Romani man's death during a police intervention in Teplice.

Evropský soud pro lidská práva zasáhl do případu, kdy při policejním zákroku v Teplicích zemřel Rom Stanislav T. Česko dle verdiktu porušilo právo na život, zákaz nelidského či ponižujícího zacházení a zákaz diskriminace. Zároveň má sestře zabitého muže zaplatit 30 660 euro, tedy téměř tři čtvrtě milionu korun.
