Singapore will maintain its tough stance against drug abuse despite criticism, Minister for Home Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam said on Tuesday (July 26). Speaking at the opening of the Singapore Prison Service's halfway house, The Turning Point, Mr Shanmugam said that Singapore has a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs and will not change it, even if it faces international pressure. He added that the country's tough drug laws have helped to keep drug abuse rates low and that the government will continue to uphold them.
