Czech President Threatens to Block Budget Over Defense Spending

Czech President Petr Pavel has criticized Andrej Babiš's government over the defense ministry's budget, which is set to fall to 1.7 percent of GDP, and has threatened to block the budget next year if defense spending targets are not met.

Rozpočet ministerstva obrany, který se letos propadne k hodnotě 1,7 procenta HDP, je pro Andreje Babiše a jeho současnou vládu stále větší brzdou. Po kritice ze Spojených států se přidal i prezident Petr Pavel. Ten sice státní rozpočet letos ještě nezablokuje, kabinetu ANO, Motoristů a SPD ovšem vzkázal, že pokud se obranné výdaje nevrátí k dříve naplánovanému růstu, příští rok už k vetu sáhne.
