Icelandic Municipality Considers Appeal After Court Acquits Fishing Company in Water Pipe Damage Case
The Vestmannaeyjar municipal council has not yet decided whether to appeal a district court ruling that acquitted Vinnslustöðin, Hugin, and the insurance company VÍS of claims for damages to the island's drinking water pipeline. The court ruled that Vinnslustöðin was not considered a fishing operator despite being the sole owner of Hugin.
