July GST collections up 15.4% to Rs 2.1 L cr on higher imports
Goods and Services Tax collections rose 15.4 percent to Rs 2,11,205 crore in July. This increase was largely due to a 29 percent jump in integrated GST on imports. Strong economic activity and higher commodity prices also contributed to the robust tax collections. Central GST mop-up increased 12.3 percent while state GST grew 8.7 percent. Net collections after refunds went up 15.8 percent, reflecting continued economic resilience.
