France's Far-Right RN Loses Longstanding Northern Stronghold in Municipal Elections

In the northern French town of Villers-Cotterêts, the far-right National Rally (RN) lost control after 12 years. Independent centrist Jeanne Roussel won the municipal elections on March 22 with 52.51% of the vote, unseating far-right mayor Franck Briffaut.
