‘Muslim name hurting house hunt’: Woman moves HC for ‘ghar waapsi’

A Vadodara woman seeks to revert to her Christian maiden name after facing housing challenges. She adopted a Muslim name after marrying a Muslim man, which now causes social issues. The Gujarat High Court has issued notices to state authorities regarding her name change request. Authorities previously denied her gazette publication without a divorce decree. The court is now seeking replies on why her request was not accepted.
