Dutch Court Overturns Arbitration Ruling in Czech Republic-Synot Dispute

A Dutch court has overturned a 2023 arbitration decision that favored the Czech Republic in a 3.6 billion CZK dispute against Cypriot firms from the Synot group. The court also prohibited the companies from initiating new arbitration proceedings against the Czech Republic.

Nizozemský soud zrušil arbitrážní rozhodnutí z roku 2023, podle kterého Česko uspělo ve sporu o 3,6 miliardy korun proti kyperským firmám ze skupiny Synot. Zároveň ale společnostem zakázal vést znovu proti Česku arbitráž. Uvedlo to v pátek ministerstvo financí, které rozsudek považuje za příznivý pro Česko.
