Jacek Czaputowicz, Poland's former foreign minister, criticized a decision to withdraw an order from the president of a country under attack, arguing it was a poor move despite the need to react strongly to attempts to commemorate UPA.

Niestety to była bardzo zła decyzja. Uważam, że trzeba bardzo silnie reagować na takie próby upamiętnienia UPA, która dopuściła się czynów ludobójczych na Polakach, ale to musi być skuteczne - mówił Jacek Czaputowicz, były minister spraw zagranicznych w RMF FM. Dodał, że gdy Polska stawia ultimatum, iż odbierze (Wołodymyrowi Zełenskiemu) Order Orła Białego, a to nie następuje, wówczas pokazujemy swoją słabość - argumentował.
