GRA Clarifies Publican AI Role, Admits Outreach Gaps

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) clarified that its Publican AI system offers only suggestions, not final decisions, for tax assessments. The authority also acknowledged that its outreach efforts regarding the AI tool may not have effectively reached all grassroots traders.

Assistant Commissioner at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs Laboratory, Samuel Akrofi, has clarified that the new Publican AI system deployed at the port is not sacrosanct and does not make final decisions on its own.
