Indian Government Allows Duty-Free Sugar Imports and Imposes Stock Limits
To control prices, the Indian government has allowed 10 lakh tonnes of duty-free sugar imports until October 31. Additionally, a stockholding limit has been imposed on bulk consumers using more than 10 tonnes of sugar a month, capping their stock at 15 days' consumption.
