Italian wages grew by less than inflation in second quarter says Istat

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 29 - Istat said Wednesday that Italian wages grew by less than inflation in the second quarter of 2026, ending a run of 10 consecutive quarters in which wages increased in real terms. The national statistics agency said the the average annual growth in contractual hourly wages was 2.5% in the April-June period, while the annual inflation rate for the quarter was 3%. (ANSA).
