Japanese PM Takaichi to Propose 1% Food Consumption Tax Cut

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi is expected to announce a policy to reduce the consumption tax rate on food items by 1% for two years, starting next April. She plans to seek consensus within the Liberal Democratic Party at an extraordinary executive meeting.
