Taunts over looks, IQ not enough to invoke Section 498A: Jharkhand HC

The Jharkhand high court quashed a criminal case against a man accused of cruelty. The court found the allegations did not meet Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code. Taunts about complexion and low IQ were deemed insufficient to constitute cruelty. The court stated continuing the case would be an abuse of legal process. Therefore, the criminal proceedings against the petitioner were set aside.
