Largest Earthquake of the Century Strikes Near Torfajökull, Iceland
A magnitude 3.7 earthquake, the largest recorded in the area this century, occurred near Torfajökull, west of Landmannalaugar, Iceland. This region has experienced fifteen quakes of magnitude 3 or greater since 2000, with the previous largest in 2018.
