Latgale Congress in Rēzekne in 1917

The Latgale Congress took place in Rēzekne on May 9-10, 1917, where Latgalian Latvians discussed self-governance and decided to unite with other Latvians. The first day saw a tense atmosphere and 40 people leaving the congress.

Latgales kongress Rēzeknē notika 1917. gada 9. un 10. maijā, pēc vecā stila 26. un 27. aprīlī. Latgales latviešu pārstāvju sanāksmē apsprieda Latgales pašpārvaldes jautājumus. Rezultātā latgalieši lēma par apvienošanos ar pārējiem latviešiem, taču pirmajā dienā 40 cilvēki kongresu pametu un atmosfēra Rēzeknē bija nokaitēta.
