Latvian authorities plan to ban regular bus service to Russia and Belarus, including routes that transit through the country. The Transport Ministry has drafted the amendments and submitted them for the government’s consideration, the Latvian news outlet Delfi reported.

From 2027, it is planned to ban regular and occasional international passenger transport by coach to Russia and Belarus, as well as transit through Latvian territory to these countries. This is provided for in proposals for amendments to the Road Transport Law, prepared by the Ministry of Transport and submitted to the government for consideration.
