Lithuania's State Forest Service has launched a large-scale internal investigation to assess whether permits for clear-cutting sanitary forest felling were issued in compliance with valid legal acts.

Valstybinė miškų tarnyba (VMT), direktoriaus Mindaugo Tarnausko įsakymu, pradėjo plataus masto vidinį patikrinimą, kuriuo siekiama įvertinti, ar leidimai plyniesiems sanitariniams miško kirtimams buvo išduodami laikantis galiojančių teisės aktų ir nustatytų procedūrų. Tyrimas apima laikotarpį nuo 2024 m.
