Magistrates' Arrears Could Cost Italy One Billion Euros
Following a ruling by the Council of State, the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance has raised the salary increase for magistrates for the period 2018-2020 from 4.85% to 6.82%, necessitating an additional nearly 200 million euros. Considering subsequent years are also involved, the total expenditure could escalate to one billion euros, presenting a fresh budgetary concern.
