New 5,800-Pipe Organ Installed in Ostrava Cathedral

Organ builders have begun installing a new instrument with over 5,800 pipes, some weighing 200 kilograms, in the Ostrava Cathedral. The organ is scheduled for completion and consecration by November 22, with public contributions still being accepted for its construction.

Varhanáři začali v katedrále v Ostravě montovat nový nástroj. Bude mít přes 5800 píšťal a ty největší váží i 200 kilogramů. Varhany musí být hotové do 22. listopadu, kdy je v plánu slavnostní vysvěcení. Na jejich stavbu mohou lidé přispět ve veřejné sbírce nebo adopcí jedné z píšťal.
