New Greek ID Cards: Six in Ten Citizens Still Use Old Version
Six out of ten Greek citizens are still using the old version of their ID cards, despite new EU rules. Current ID cards will cease to be valid travel documents from August 3, 2026, and will be completely phased out by September 2027, making replacement mandatory.
