NIA arrests ex-TMC MP Aparupa Poddar’s husband in 2023 Ram Navami violence

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Shakir Ali, a Trinamool councillor and husband of former MP Aparupa Poddar, in connection with the 2023 Ram Navami violence in Rishra. Ali was detained after investigators found inconsistencies in his statements regarding clashes during a BJP MLA's rally. His arrest has sparked protests, with his wife also facing charges for allegedly obstructing police duties. The NIA is investigating the conspiracy angle.
