ODIHR issues five recommendations for improving Serbian electoral laws
The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) assessed that the draft amendments to three pieces of Serbian electoral legislation are a step in the right direction, but that further improvements are needed. ODIHR has issued five recommendations for improving the electoral process in Serbia, including the need to ensure greater transparency in the financing of political parties and campaigns, as well as the need to improve the accuracy of voter lists. ODIHR also recommended that the Serbian authorities take measures to prevent the misuse of state resources during election campaigns and to ensure equal media access for all candidates. The recommendations are aimed at strengthening the integrity and fairness of the electoral process in Serbia.
