Ostrava-Opava Diocese Celebrates 30th Anniversary in Czech Republic

The Ostrava-Opava diocese in the Czech Republic is celebrating 30 years since its establishment by papal bull in 1996. An event called 'Day of Gratitude' will be held at the Ostrava cathedral to mark the anniversary.

Jediná česká konkatedrála, dětské ekocentrum i spor o sídlo. Ostravsko-opavská diecéze slaví 30 let

Ostravsko-opavské biskupství slaví 30 let od svého založení. Vzniklo na základě papežské buly z 30. května 1996 skrze oddělení od olomoucké arcidiecéze. K výročí se u ostravské katedrály bude konat oslava s názvem Den vděčnosti. „Po bohoslužbě připravujeme pro všechny takové posezení okolo katedrály s možností se setkat a pobavit se,“ říká pro Český rozhlas mluvčí diecéze Ondřej Elbel.
