Berlinale Director to Meet with Minister of Culture, May Resign. Reason is Disputes Over Palestine

Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle, who has led the renowned international film festival since April 2024, will step down. This was reported by the newspaper Bild on Wednesday, according to which the reason is an antisemitic scandal.

Ředitelka Berlinale Tricia Tuttleová, která vyhlášený mezinárodní filmový festival vede od dubna 2024, odejde z funkce. Ve středu to napsal deník Bild, podle kterého je důvodem antisemitský skandál při sobotním udělování cen. Agentura DPA napsala, že na čtvrtek svolal německý ministr kultury Wolfram Weimer mimořádnou schůzku k dalšímu směřování filmové přehlídky. Vyjádření k osudu Tuttleové ale ministerstvo neučinilo, nekomentuje prý spekulace.
