Revised Imperial House Law Promulgated in Japan, Effective in Three Months
A revised Imperial House Law aimed at securing the number of imperial family members was promulgated on July 24. The law, which allows female imperial family members to remain in the imperial family after marriage and permits adoption of male descendants from former imperial families, will take effect in three months.
