Sarajevo Mayor Opposes Reinstallation of Franz Ferdinand Monument

Irfan Čengić, mayor of Sarajevo's Old Town Municipality, stated that a monument to Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie will not be reinstalled in the municipality, where they were assassinated in 1914.

Načelnik sarajevske Opštine Stari Grad Irfan Čengić (SDP BiH) je danas izjavio da u toj opštini neće biti ponovo postavljen spomenik austrougarskom prestolonasledniku Francu Ferdinandu i njegovoj supruzi Sofiji, na koje je 28. juna 1914. godine Gavrilo Princip, član "Mlade Bosne", izvršio atentat što je bio povod za početak Prvog svetskog rata.
