Scientists Link Record Mediterranean Heatwave to Human Activity
A research network has concluded that the extreme heat experienced in parts of the Mediterranean during two weeks in July, with temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius off Mallorca, would have been impossible without human influence. The unprecedented warmth also led to unusual marine life sightings, such as octopuses near Scotland.
