UK Faces Soaring Gas Prices as Winter Nears

UK gas prices have climbed to their highest since 2022 and more than doubled since the start of the year, just as UK households face the highest winter energy costs in three years. Britain is particularly exposed because it relies heavily on gas while storing little of its own, leaving it dependent on seaborne liquefied natural gas when demand surges or renewable generation falters.
