
Xbox Launches Disc-to-Digital Program Allowing Physical Game Conversion
Microsoft has officially introduced a new Xbox feature that enables players to convert their physical game discs into permanent digital licenses. The program will begin rolling out to select users next week as part of the console maker’s broader shift toward digital distribution.

Xbox Is Handling the Transition From Physical Media to Digital Much Better Than PlayStation Is
Xbox just announced its plan to let players digitize their physical games for use across any number of supported devices, from PCs to handhelds to (presumably) the upcoming Project Helix next-gen PC/console hybrid. And just like that, they've made PlayStation look even worse for its tone-deaf, player-last decision to stop selling physical copies of its games starting in early 2028.
