Italy leads opposition to 'second-class' EU status for future members
Italy and six other countries supporting Western Balkan EU membership have opposed a Franco-German and Benelux proposal to include new, restrictive legal safeguards in accession treaties for future members, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.
